Welcome to a brand new year.Before we start our lesson, I will like you to think of the following questions as an individual.
1) What are your success / joys you have experienced in the learning of Mathematics in your primary school?
2) What are your fear / difficulties you experienced in learning Mathematics?
3) What are your expectation of me as a Mathematics Teacher?
1) We get to go to the computer lab to do mathematics assignments.

3) Teach us in a interesting way.
1)Math notes should be hardcopies. I would absorb 100% of it.
ReplyDelete2)My fear is that math notes is in soft copies, I would only absorb 20% of it.
3)I would expect the teacher not be be long-winded, go straight to the point.
I experienced success when I got my PSLE results.

I expect the teacher t be helpful and guide us in our work, not spoon feed

1.The joy i experienced doing maths is the joy of seeing numbers all over the place.

I expect my teacher to explain all the theories throughly and show it to us at least once for us to understand.

1) It was enjoyable learning Mathematics in Primary School as my teacher used very interesting methods to teach Mathematics.
ReplyDelete2) I had difficulties learning new Mathematics Topics and was afraid to make mistakes when attempting to solve new Mathematics problems.
3) I do expect the teacher to be able to use a unique way to teach their subject rather than use a boring way and that the teacher provide us with other sources of information other than the textbook.
1.I was able to solve most of the maths questions. 2.Some questions were very confusing. 3.You should be able to teach us well with interesting (not boring) lessons.
ReplyDeleteMy success and joy in learning maths in primary school was when i got A*, and the fear in learning maths is when i do not have enough time to complete a test or exam. As for my expectations, i only expect the teacher to be the jovial kind and not the strict down-to-earth teacher.

1. When I have successfully familiarise myself with a concept which might be difficult or confusing is the joy that I get from Math.

(1) In my primary school days, math was a pretty enjoyable subject as our teacher was very good and I always did fairly well in math examinations.

1) I feel really elated when i have solved a really tough question after thinking about it for quite a long time.

3) I expect you to teach me, as well as the class, patiently and not get frustrated with us even if we repeatedly ask you the same question because we do not understand the question.

1. I managed to answer tough questions on speed and I am happy because I am poor in speed.

1) What are your success / joys you have experienced in the learning of Mathematics in your primary school?
ReplyDeleteDuring Primary 6, I had a hard time learning maths, but thanks to my interesting math teacher who made the math lesson much more interesting, i managed to get an A* for math during my PSLE.
2) What are your fear / difficulties you experienced in learning Mathematics?
I always get frustrated when i cannot solve a math problem, and after looking through the workbook, i found out that Secondary 1 math was a huge leap from Primary 6.
3) What are your expectation of me as a Mathematics Teacher?
As a math teacher, i expect you to make the math lesson as interesting as possible.

1)In my primary school, I found that learning mathematics can be rather fun because when I worked hard, I discovered mathematics tests my analytical skills and allows me to expand my creativity'
ReplyDelete2)As mathematics always requires students to work questions out, which takes up time, the worst fear was the lack of time when solving problems during exams. I then found out that I had to work out problems using a faster way
3)I expect my mathematics teacher to be patient towards students and allows students to solve problems not with only one way. I also expect the teacher to let the students build up their confidence and not lower it by saying negative things about students.
I experienced success when I am complimented for questions and answers. I fear that I will not keep up with my classmates as I learn new things slowly. As a mathematics teacher, I expect that you should be patient, caring and will sacrifice time for people who could not keep up.

1. I have always liked a challenge and I enjoy to rack my brains to solve a tricky question. If I am able to solve it, I will be elated and that would be one of my success in doing math.
ReplyDelete2. Usually, I take quite a while to grasp a concept, after much explanation. I also find math very tricky as I find it hard to understand a question and answer it with the right method.
3. As a teacher, I would expect you to be able to teach math in an interesting manner. You should be as clear as possible for us to be able to clearer.

Well, success is maybe just getting full marks for a test, it is enough to make me happy for the whole day. As for the fears, I think it should be question on speed. I think that they are difficult to understand. Lastly, my expectations for you. I think that a mathematics teacher should be able to help his/her students in their studies, as well as some other personal problems.
